I really want to strengthen my abs. Can I do ab workouts in bed where the cushioning is much better than on the ground? Will this make my exercises less effective? They sort of feel less effective because I get little resistance from my bed. Please help!
Is this a trick question?
Yes, doing sit ups and crunches in bed is very good because the mattress will contour to your back….sex is a great exercise too.

I have been doing the same variety of ab exercises for a while now and I dont feel challenged anymore which means its not very effective anymore.
Anyone have any tricks or tips to share?
I have a flat stomach but i want all over definition, so both lower and upper ab exercises are welcome!
Thanks in advance
If you’re properly contracting your abs, you shouldn’t be able to do more than about 3 sets of 15 crunches.
There are no upper or lower abs. "Abs" are really just one muscle group. The reason there are splits is because of tendons that run across the abs, and the muscle group pushing through the tendons.

I’m so busy with my job, taking classes, my boyfriend and homework that I just don’t have time to work out or whenever I do have time, I’m just so tired. I truly do wish to tone my stomach, but I just don’t know any easy, simple ab workouts. Help anyone?

none of the excercises are hard or time consuming ….so all the best ..

I’m trying to tone up for the summer months. What are some good exercises that work the stomach hard, put some definition on the stomach, and make the stomach flat?
I want exercises not pills! : )
If you are prone to store fat around your middle, the healthiest solution is to maintain a normal weight. By matching your calorie intake to your calorie needs and prevent weight gain, you will prevent the development of any excess fat. However, if you already have a fat belly, the best option is to follow a healthy weight loss diet, combined with fitness exercises such as aerobics (to burn extra calories) and a stomach-toning workout to help tighten and strengthen abdominal muscles. That said, reducing a fat stomach takes time – especially if you are an apple-shape. Here are execise videos which help to reduce belly fat http://www.squidoo.com/killerabsvids

The title pretty much says it all…what are some good (and preferably easy and cheap exercises) that I can do to have a great stomach by summer?
Having visible abs has very little to do with doing abdominal exercises, and a whole lot to do with how much body fat you have. Doing lots of ab exercises is irrelevant if your abs are covered in a layer of fat. To get abs, you need to get your body fat down with diet and exercise. And ab exercises won’t make fat over your belly go away, either . Abdominal exercises rarely make a difference in how you look, though the can be beneficial for other reasons.

What are some that you can do at home and/or work? I went to menshealthfitness and other sites, but i tried what they said, but it is not working out for me. what are some ab exercises you do? also, what are some ab exercises that you reccommend for me that leave your abs feeling as though you would rather jump into a volcano?
an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture, for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you will damage your back and spine!
Slowly move the upper part of your body back, until it’s parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times.
Every week add to the number of repetitions.
You will see the results in a week, guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat – if you have any – six pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these crunches – I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

I’ve been hearing all over that sit ups are pointless? Is this true? If yes, are there any muscle building ab exercises that will give results?
its not that they are pointless, its just that if you dont do cardio, it wont matter, because the fat is still overtop of the muscles.

As long as they are full of protein. Raw vegetables and fruits, nuts and cheeses will help replenish what the body is using. Lots of water and cut out the sugars, sweets, breads, and colas. Cut out the processed foods, down on the beef, up on the chicken and fish.
