Fitness Master X Series Momentum Review
Wednesday, September 1st, 2010This stunning indoor cycling bike is an impressive stationary cycle, equivalent to commercial bikes found at your local fitness club. The initial impression most people get the first time they see this bike is how tough it is. It doesn’t matter how hard you push your workout, this indoor cycle is not going to move an inch due to its strudy construction and solid frame.
Depending no how handy you are, it could take you between 30 and 45 minutes to completely assemble the Fitness Master X Series Momentum and tighten everything up. The tension adjustment is simple and exceptionally responsive. Seat and handlebar adjustments are exceptionally straightforward to make. The handle bars may be gripped in several ways for optimal comfort, from sitting straight up during cool-downs to leaning forward and holding on during sprints.
If you have a pair of cycling shoes, you can attach them to the pedals and use the toe cages to keep your feet in place. There is an extra set of clips included with the bike for differing kinds of cycling shoes.
The Fitness Master X Series Momentum is a bit heavier than the ordinary fitness bike because of its solid construction. To move the bike, you have to balance it on the two small wheels in the front part of the frame. However, it might be a good idea to get someone to help you move it as even balance on the front wheels, the X Series Momentum is not exactly a light bike.
Of course no exercise bike is perfect and the X Series Momentum has some negatives as well. The seat is just not incredibly comfortable, particularly for extended workouts. Nonetheless, it’s easy to replace the seat with any typical bike seat of your choice. A gel seat could be a good decision if you plan on riding the bike more than 30 minutes per workout.
Based on your specific training needs, the fact that X Series Momentum does not have an LCD screen, as found on other types of exercise bikes, might or might not be a bad thing. While most other types of exercise bikes come with LCD displays, a lot of hard-core cyclists don’t use them since the screen distracts them from concentrating on their training routine. Since most outdoor bikes don’t have an LCD display (in fact I think none of them do for satefy reasons), you won’t want to get used to and come to depend on an external display to be able to gauge the progress of your workout.
Summary
Overall, the Fitness Master X Series Momentum Indoor Cycling Bike is a great spin bike for the money with loads of the features that are standard on more expensive bikes.
