4 Best Exercises for Abs

Friday, January 8th, 2010

When you read the words “exercises for abs,” you probably have these two words in mind: sit ups. I’m actually not surprised because sit ups are one of the most, if not the most, common forms of abdominal exercises out there. They’re so widespread that even a 10-year-old knows what they are.

You have to understand, however, that sit ups aren’t the only moves you can do to get six pack abs. The best way to get the most out of any abs workout is to add a certain degree of variety and perform them often.

Combining these abdominal muscle exercises with a full body workout and a well-balanced diet is practically full-proof. Keep all three elements present and thriving, and you will definitely see results fast.

Truth about abs: according to a previous study, bicycles, weighted sit ups, fully body crunches, and ball crunches are the 4 most effective exercises for abs. I’ll tell you why:

1. Bicycles. These exercises work not only your upper, lower, and side abdominals, but also other parts of your body such as the arms, lower back, and legs. For this one, you need to lie on the floor and touch your fingers to your ears. Bend your knees and begin alternating cycling movements with your legs. As your right knee comes in, lift and twist so that your left elbow touches it. Simply do the same on the other side.

2. Weighted Sit Ups. With these exercises for abs, your core muscles get pushed a little further through resistance training. They’re very similar to regular sit ups so they’re not complicated to do at all. You will need some small weights, like a pair of light dumbbells, and you must secure them on your chest with both hands. Proceed by lifting your torso upward, holding it there for a few seconds, and coming back down, just like with regular sit ups.

3. Full Body Crunches. As the name implies, these exercises work your arms, back, and legs, just like bicycles. All you have to do is lie on the floor, bend both knees, and cross your arms over your chest. As you raise your shoulders for that crunch, pull in your knees simultaneously. Go back down and start all over.

4. Ball Crunches. Compared to regular floor crunches, ball crunches promote balance and work your core in its entirety. It’s very simple yet challenging, and I guess that’s the beauty of it. First, take an exercise ball and sit on it. Roll the ball underneath until your back is resting on it and your thighs are parallel to the floor. Begin doing crunches as you would on a flat surface. With the ball, you get padded support for your back and a taste of variety.

By including these in your workout program , you can now sculpt nice abs in a month and say goodbye to your love handles.

What Do I Have to Do to Get Six Pack Abs?

Friday, December 11th, 2009

There is nobody who wouldn’t like to get a set of six pack abs. Wanting something is very different from actually getting something. The vast majority of people can easily get a six pack by following the correct steps.

Many people think that just by doing abdominal exercises, they will lose fat waist. This is completely the wrong approach. Ab exercises do play a role, but they do not form the whole jigsaw. You will be required to join up the other pieces in order to get what you want.

The first thing that you will have to incorporate into your life will be cardio training of some sorts. These types of exercises are the best calorie burners. It is too many calories that are responsible for the fat that is covering your abs. Only by getting rid of the fat, will you make your abdominal muscles visible.

Engaging in cardiovascular training will burn a lot of calories off your body. This will entail three or four cardio workouts a week for a duration of 15 to 30 mins. If you think currently this is beyond you, just start somewere you will be comfortable with.

Your end results will depend hugely on the type of food that you feed your body with. It’s pointless motivating yourself to train unless you change your diet to go along with it. Drop all the junk food.

You will have to alter the way in which you approach your food. Eating smaller meals more frequently during the day is much more beneficial than eating 2 or 3 larger meals. Doing this will ensure that your metabolism is always burning calories.

You will need to continue to do some abs training if you want that set of six pack abs. Doing hundreds of sit ups each week is in all honestly a waste of effort. If the reps become too easy, use weights whilst doing them.

The other thing is not to stick to just a couple of abdominal exercises. Use various stomach exercises to hit your mid section. This will work different muscles and give you a far superior all round look once the fat has gone.

Six pack abs are in your reach, if these principles are followed.

Even those folks that are thin and have a flat stomach will need dedication, persistency, and dedication to get six pack abs.  Those that are chubby will have even more work cut out for them.  You can find out how to get six pack abs no matter what your present condition is but don’t take on the challenge lightly.  There are no shortcuts and it’s not as straightforward as doing sit-ups each day.  There is a group of abdominal muscles and you will have to work each of them in order to get six pack abs.  If you have excess body fat, then you’ll also have to lose that before you will even be able to see the abdominals.

Lose The Fat

No matter how many books, articles, or diet plans you read on how to get six pack abs, they will all start the same way : lose the fat.  If you have fat that’s over your abdominal muscles, there is no way you are going to be able to see your abdominals and all the exercises in the world won’t give them the appearance you want them to have.  You also can’t get rid of the fat in this area without losing the fat over the rest of your body.  That implies that whether you have five or one hundred excess pounds to lose, you’ll have to lose all of it before you even get started developing a six pack.

Add The Muscle

in order to lose the fat, you will need to commit to a workout plan designed to burn calories and create muscle.  Since losing the fat is all about burning calories, building muscle is one of the most advantageous things you can do to get six pack abs.  You need to also understand that high calorie foods will limit your progress.

You should be doing the intestinal exercises at the same time you are using exercises to lose fat.  You’ll be able to increase the muscle in your body that may help you burn calories quicker.  Choose a program that works all of the abdominals and the other core muscles which support them, and is concentrated on skyrocketing muscle mass and burning fat.

You can learn the way to get six pack abs and do your goals if you stick with your program and do not give up too quickly!

How Do I Build My Abdominals?

Monday, August 24th, 2009

You’re probably thinking, “How do I build my abdominals?”

I think it’s good that you’re asking yourself this. That means you want MORE out of life. It also means that you’re tired of an average body and you’ve realized that living healthier is the next and ONLY step that makes good sense.

Don’t let the overwhelming possibilities drag you down though. Getting a six pack isn’t as hard as you imagine. Armed with the right tools, it will seem like a walk in the park to you.

How do you get six pack abs exactly? I feel that the real question is, “Where should one START?”

When I decided to build my abdominals, I didn’t know where to start either. The first few weeks were extra tough only because I was completely clueless. Looking back, it would’ve been a whole lot easier for me from the beginning had I followed these 3 easy steps:

1. Re-evaluate your eating habits;

2. Burn excess body fat; and

3. Follow an ab fitness routine.

Diet

The first thing you need to do is to look at your diet.

Check the contents of your fridge, think back on what you usually order when you eat out, and go over your grocery lists. These are a few things you can do to implement this step.

A healthy diet did help build my abdominals, and I suggest that you start there. The way you look and FEEL are greatly affected by what you eat. By cutting down on bad fats, starchy foods, and sweets, you’re actually paving the way for your body to get in gear.

Piece of advice: before spending a ridiculous amount of money on high tech exercise equipment and too-good-to-be-true diet pills, work on your diet first. You’ll be amazed how much time and cash you can save just by doing that.

Burn Fat

Burning excess body fat is the next sensible step to this process. Excess – the term itself says it all. With excess body fat in the way, it’s even more difficult to build muscle.

For me to build my abdominals, I had to perform full body workouts. Exercises that engage all muscle groups help burn more fat. At the same time, these exercises also aim to improve your health.

High-intensity aerobic exercises will give you the best fat burning outcome during and AFTER your workout. As you form this healthy habit, your body will respond positively and can only continue to burn fat long after you’ve exercised.

Targeted Abdominal Exercises

Combined with full body workouts, regular implementation of an abdominal training program will definitely get your ab muscles toned and buffed in no time. This was the third step I took to build my abdominals.

To build muscles fast, you need to perform high-resistance abdominal exercises, like hanging leg raises and weighted sit ups, with extreme care. Unline regular sit ups and crunches, these exercises will push you even more. Remember, the higher the resistance, the faster you’re going to get ripped abs.

If these 3 no nonsense 6 pack steps helped me build my abdominals, then you can utilize them, too. So, start eating healthy, perform full body workouts, and hike up the resistance for your ab program today.

Five Common Mistakes In Getting Six Pack Abs

Monday, July 27th, 2009

There are many mistakes that people tend to perform when try to get six pack abs. Have you noticed that even after working out at the gym for so many hours, and starving yourself to death, you still haven’t seen much of a difference in your physique?

I am going to tell you 5 popular mistakes that you tend to do when you are trying to get a six pack.

1. You don’t watch your nutrition. You eat too little, or you eat different. If you want to get six pack abdominals, you need to eat 6 short meals a day which includes a lean protein and rich fibers in every meal.

2. You do over a thousands of Ab crunches every single day. This will make your abs really strong and big, but how are they every going to show up with all that fat covering it? Did you really think Ab crunches will burn stomach fat? If you do, then scratch your head.

3. You do over 1 hour of cardio on the treadmill ever day. If you do, then you are wasting your precious time and energy for nothing! I can burn fat three times more by doing cardio on the same machine for only 20 minutes, three days a week!

4. You fall for all those fat loss infomercials that go on TV every single day. Ab machines don’t work. I already show my facts above. Diet pills doesn’t guarantee to work either. You will only injure your metabolic rate so bad, you will start to lose more fat in the beginning and start gaining fat in the future no matter how many pills you drink before a meal.

5. You remain to the machines and avoid resistance training as much as possible. Well, it is high time for you to begin getting a dumbbell because resistance training combined with HIIT and proper diet equals the easiest and fastest route to fat loss.

These are the 5 common mistakes you do when it comes to get six pack abs and I have stated what you need to do in remedy as well.

How to Lose Belly Fat Fast and Get Perfect Abs

Looking to get Six Pack Abs

If your looking for the answer to the ultimate abs question – what is the best exercise to get a flat stomach? then the answer is… None! Believe it or not Ab exercises alone will not give your body enough response to generate fat loss or a flatter stomach.

Many trainers and diet, often get asked what are the best types of exercises for losing belly fat to bring out a visible six pack. Most people with excess abdominal fat are looking for that “magic” cure to uncover their abs or to rid themselves of the stomach flab fast. Click here for more information on six pack abs training.

The thing is they are approaching the problem in entirely the wrong way! The truth is that you don’t lose stomach fat by doing ab workouts!

What you are looking to do is to try to flatten your stomach and bring out 6-pack abs by concentrating your efforts on the right workouts that will reduce your body fat for good not just trying to get good looking abs!

If I were to choose an answer as to what the best exercises are for losing belly fat, my answer would include full body exercises such as the following: various forms of squats, lunges, deadlifts, clean & presses, snatches, swings, presses and pulls, mountain climbers, sprinting, etc.

These types of full body exercises would encompass a much higher percentage of the workouts instead of abs exercises directly targeting the midsection. The way you combine those full body exercises into a strategic workout that maximizes your metabolism is also very important.

Don’t get me wrong… it is recommend to do a certain amount of exercises that directly target the abs and core, but these should be only a small fraction of your program as your time is better spent focusing on the full body exercises that stimulate the greatest hormonal and metabolic changes within the body. In addition, a side-effect of working out using mostly full body multi-joint combo exercises are that you indirectly work your entire midsection even though you are not specifically targeting the abs. Follow this link for more on Mike Geary abs.

Bear in mind how important it is to consider nutrition for devveloping abs. No matter how hard you workout, if your diet is full of junk, then your abdominals will be covered with ugly fat. Nutrition is without a doubt the “king of getting a six pack”.

So Let’s be clear about this…

Don’t waste time on doing sit ups, leg raises, crunches and using all those ab fad gadgets in your efforts to obtain the perfect six pack. Instead, focus on high intensity full body lifts using combination multi-joint exercises all strategically combined into highly effective fat loss workouts. Couple that with a healthy diet full of natural unprocessed whole foods as close to their natural state as possible, and those elusive six-pack abdominal’s will be yours in no time!
