Well, what you need to do first is to make absolutely certain that it is your abdominal muscles that you are targeting in your exercises, an also check that you are not rushing them. For many workout enthusiasts, it is the number they can do in a fixed time that is important, but that lowers the standard of the exercise. To be more beneficial, you need to hold each contraction of the abs for a few seconds, and if you are rushing to beat the latest record of number of the crunches in two minutes, then you cannot do this, and the exercises will not be as successful for you. Changing up an abs exercise routine can help you produce a higher intensity work out which is going to speed up your results.</p>
<p> I am going to present a great high intensity workout you can do to get ripped abs that don’t even directly point to straight up abs exercise at all. This high intensity consists of three exercises and is set up in a tri-set format which is similar to like a super-set.</p>
<p> The workout:</p>
<p> 1a. Renegade Dumbbell Rows</p>
<p> 1b. Front Squats with Barbell</p>
<p> 1c. Mountain Climbers on Floor</p>
<p> A good rep scheme to use with this could be 3-4 sets of 8 reps for each exercise, or more sets for less reps, such as 5 sets of 5 reps of each exercise. Mountain climbers can be done for a time interval (such as 30 seconds) instead of &#8220;reps&#8221;.</p>
<p> Starting position for the renegade dumbbell is just like a pushup position.  With only difference being is that you have your hands on two dumbbells. Then, row one dumbbell up while keeping your body stabilized with the other arm. Then bring the dumbbell back to the ground and do the other arm.  Be sure the whole time that you keep your body in a controlled manner and you are keeping form. It is when you are stabilizing your abdominals are being worked. Even though you aren’t targeting your abs directly, you’ll feel it in the morning on your midsection core area.</p>
<p> Front squats are done similar to back squats, however with the barbell in front of your body on the front of your shoulders instead of resting on the upper back as in back squats. Get the barbell on your shoulders while crossing your arms to stabilize, and push your firsts into the bar against your shoulders being sure to keep your elbows out in front of your body. This takes a little practice at first, so you will want to seek a professional trainer at your gym to help you with the form. Your abs are working through the extreme stabilization your body is going through as the weight shifts to the front of your body creating this strenuous stabilization strength effort. This is another exercise that you’ll be feeling in your abdominals area!</p>
<p> Just like the renegade dumbbells, mountain climbers have a starting position of a pushup.  You then shuffle the your feet in and out so that your knees come up to your chest and back out to the starting position. It gets its workout name due to the fact that it simulates climbing a mountain but you are flat on the floor. Mountain climbers is a great workout to <a href="http://rapidabs.com/loose-belly-fat">loose stomach fat</a> as it burns off body fat.</p>
<p> After doing each exercise, rest for 30 seconds then start the next one. Take a small 1-2 minute break in between tri-sets, then repeat it.</p>

<p> This exercise focuses on the lower abs.  with this kind of exercise, you are on the same position as with the crunches,  you lie flat on your back and lift your legs six to twelve inches of the ground.  This would exercise the muscles in the lower part of the abdomen.When doing leg lifts make sure your hands remain under your butt.  It adds leverage and helps you get your feet elevated.  </p>
<p> If you want to add more weight into the exercise, attach padded weights into your ankles.These weights can either be purchased online( Look for free shipping) or at a local store.If you don&#8217;t have weights use a can of food or fill some tube socks with rocks or a bag of sand to get your desired weight.  </p>
<p> • <strong>V- Crunches</strong></p>
<p> It’s almost like lying leg lifts except your chest is at a 45 degree angle starting out.  Sit at the edge of a bench and reach back just enough to support yourself from completely lying on the bench.  Once you’ve stabilized, bring your knees toward your chest.You should be creating a V motion.  The base of the V would be your abs.  </p>
<p> • <strong>Cat stretch</strong></p>
<p> It’s the same with the movements made by a cat when they stretch their back. This basic action is easy and quick.  Get down on the floor with your hands and knees, with muscles relaxed and looking straight ahead.  Next, tighten your abdominal muscles while thrusting you back upward as far as you can.  Maintain the position for five counts before lowering your back.  </p>
<p> • <strong>Bicycle Crunch</strong></p>
<p> To do this, start y lying flat on the floor. Put your hand beside your head then raise knees up to 45 degrees angle and them perform a pedaling motion like what you do when you ride the bicycle.  </p>
<p> • <strong>Standing Side Bends</strong></p>
<p> Standing side bends encourages the loss of fats in the oblique muscles.  To start, stand up straight with the stomach sucked in, legs straight and hands on the sides.  Simply lean the body from left to right being careful not to rotate the hips and while keeping  body facing front.There are many different side bends, these are torso twists.  Instead of bending side to side twist or rotate the upper body from left to right while keeping the legs straight.</p>

Just a reminder, ab workouts do NOT remove fat.  If you have a beer belly or love handles, you need to do cardio and have better nutrition &#8211; doing ab exercises will NOT help.   Why do abs?  Well, not only because a 6-pack looks really cool but strong abs are key for virtually every sport except tiddley winks.  Ab strength is critical for  hitting a baseball, whacking a golf ball, and especially in sports involving punching where most of the power in the punch comes from your core.  Even if you dont do any sports, a strong core can protect your spine from injury.</p>
<p>Now, people get really confused about ab workouts &#8211; do you do them once a week or every day?  Do you do high reps or low reps?  First lets clear the air, there is no &#8220;right&#8221; or &#8220;wrong&#8221; ab workout, it depends on your goals.  The abs are like any other muscle, if you want them to get bigger and stronger, you work them out hard with heavy weight and give them plenty of rest between workouts to recover.   If you want a small, flat waist like a marathon runner then you do a few minutes of abs everyday with no weight and high reps.  If you want a really muscular core like a pro bodybuilder with big ab ridges and deep valleys, then workout with high weight and low rep and allow 5-7 days between workouts (morph zoom).  Alles Klar?</p>
<p>OK, so this particular ab workout is for people who want those big abs with deep valleys.  Lets get started.</p>
<p>This is going to be a killer 30min workout and were going to do this every 5 to 7 days.  We are going to do a five supersets with about 3 minutes between.  Each superset is going to consist of the following six exercises.<br />
•crunch at max weight (dead)<br />
•crunch with 50% weight (dead)<br />
•bicycles with 50% weight (dead)<br />
•crunch with 0 (dead)<br />
•bickcles with 0 (dead)<br />
•side plank 2x</p>
<p>At the end of the superset, you are going to be DEAD.  Now to prove I can take my own medicine, lets do a superset.</p>
<p>rest 3min, repeat.  Many people make the mistake of taking it at first to save energy for the sets at teh end, thats a mistake.  You have to give each of the exercises 100% effort as if it were the only exercise you were going to do.</p>
